Reshaped Perspectives

Where to even begin… If you read my “what I’ve learned” post, you’d know many aspects of my perspective have been reshaping. Not necessarily changing, as I am holding true to my values and staying rooted in what I believe, but shifting as God shows me new things, explains some, and reveals more to me.

  • His timing is perfect, and when things don’t come exactly as planned, that’s okay
  • He honors the desires of our heart long term– for example, someone might pray for a clothing store job but God sees their fashion designer dream and closes the door to redirect towards an internship that will give connections in the design world
  • There are many great paths, but I should listen to God for the best path – a mission trip and a family vacation are both awesome and will be blessed by God, but He desires to show us which will be best for our relationships, growth, joy – not just the most spiritual one!
  • Rest is a good thing – woah, Chanae finally realized slowing down sometimes can be beneficial? well I’m still in the process of balancing it all, but I’m learning!
  • Live from love not for love – centering myself everyday in how God sees me and knowing how loved I am
  • Because of this, I don’t need to seek approval, live to please others, or fear perceptions people have of me
  • I can have an eternal perspective by continually refining my thinking to not be stuck in comparison, unforgiveness, frustration, or complaining – thankfulness can then be a constant lifestyle!
  • Joy and peace have been so much more consistent ever since I realized it doesn’t depend on external circumstances, but from the Holy Spirit that already lives inside me!

& this is only the beginning! Stay tuned for cool perspective shifts from Papua New Guinea!
