Crazy 2 Weeks

I can’t believe I have already spent two weeks on this incredible island – time has flown by! I’m not gonna lie, its been pretty overwhelming, but I have loved getting to know awesome people, making memories, learning a lot, and spending time with God!

Our first week consisted of orientations, classes about YWAM – its purpose, story, God’s guidance throughout – and getting used to such a new environment. This past week, the topic was God’s Character which gave such new insight to the Old Testament and many questions we all had.

A typical day would start with waking up at 6am (or sleeping through your alarm like me and my roommates), breakfast at 7, worship/study time till we start class at 9. Classes are nothing like I expected! Different speakers come and stay here each week, teaching on one topic every day for 5 hours to our whole program of 24. Wednesdays we get to pick a specialty elective, in which I am studying medical and water treatment. Most days we have work study, helping out around the base for a few hours.

In our time off, we get to go serve meals to Marshallese families and homeless twice a week and group service events on the weekend (this past Saturday we spent the day working the IronMan!!). I have been praying for more opportunities to serve in the community and started seeking out organizations here to help me do that. I have been in contact with a retirement home, medical center, public schools (to tutor and hopefully mentor jr. high and high schoolers), and Special Olympics! I coached a S.O. volleyball team for the last 3 years in California and have such a passion for special needs, so this would be amazing! Please pray for these opportunities because right now, everything seems to be against me in this pursuit. I also would love prayer for more clarity in God’s guidance lately and discernment of the truth. I am so thankful for you and your support!!!

I absolutely love FaceTime calls and texts from friends and family back home so please keep in contact because I want to hear about your recent life, too!

Love you all!!!
